Yep it has been that way for a few years now. NC raised their gas taxes and priced themselves out of the market for travelers. When heading to Myrtle Beach or Florida from Maryland, I fill up at the last exit in VA and then again in SC skipping over NC. Last year when we went to FL, I don't recall South GA fuel prices being all that bad.
