Gasolinera At Baja / Baja Sur State Line Open With ULSD
The gasolinera at Jesús Maria has been a local joke for years because of its notorious dispensers. Almost exactly at the State Line about 100 meters north is a new Pemex establishment that guaranteed has 100% refined in USA or Japan ULSD / UBA diesel. Same for Magna. Brought down from the El Sauzal tank farm north of Ensenada. The "accuracy" of this gasolinera's dispenser's is not known by me. Merely the facility is the most southerly one on the transpeninsular highway to offer these fuels.
Antonio Muños' gasolinera in El Rosario definitely has "correct measure" dispensers. He has been at odds with Sanchez (SAHISA) the Ensenada distributor for decades because Antonio refuses to join the "cartel". The ambulance and fire truck in the town is absolutely non profit and donations help to support rapid transport to the Seguro Popular hospital in Colonia Guerrero. The range is presently south to Cataviña, but a unit is going to be posted at Cataviña soon and will range 70 Km south. Look for highway signs Telefono Rurál to access off grid emergency calls along Mex 1. These ambulances have worked hard and have saved the lives of many tourists. Donations can be made at the station pay window or the Halcones del Desierto website.
I do not trust the section of Mex 1 between El Rosario and Catavi?a 76 miles to the south. Many big rig accidents with overturned rigs. Idiot owners pay drivers by the load. The fountain at the big hotel in Cataviña froze solid 2 weeks ago. -5c night temp.
