Just spent some time in Homer and Seward for the GKs' spring break. Granted, it's March, not July, but can't imagine needing AC at either location if one is camped near the beach(es).
As noted above, the sites on the Spit and at the Seward muni campground are pretty close together for generator use.
Circa 0800 in Homer last Thursday (Friday?) saw a couple of kayakers leaving Homer for Halibut Cove......air temp of 35-ish, breeze, fair degree of chop, they're tougher than I am.
