I agree with Sue and Joe about disliking the noise from a continuously-run generator.
However, if you don't want to pay for a campground with electric hookups in Homer, try Deep Creek State Recreation Area at Ninilchik. It has 100 campsites on the beach with restrooms, water, a constant breeze, and great fishing and eagle watching for $15/night. The campground is always full of Class A motorhomes running their generators at all hours of the day. Quiet hours are 11:00 pm - 6:00 am, so you don't have to turn off the generator at 10:00 am. Very popular campground with fishermen, so you will likely need to make reservations to stay there.
Like Joe, we stayed at Stoney Creek in Seward too. But there was an RV caravan there at the same time, so it was packed and our site was pretty cramped.
