Getting to Usery Pass, AZ from Scottsdale
Park website suggests 101 south to 60 east to Ellsworth north. From 91st and Shea, would it be better to go east on Shea to Beeline (87) north, Gilbert rd north, 202 east, McDowell east, Ellsworth ...

You didn't say where in Scottsdale you'd be starting but we've taken 101 south to 202 (Red Mtn. Freeway), exiting on to McKellips and head east to Usery Pass Rd, then north a couple miles to the park.
202 is lightly used and a very pleasant drive.
We don't like Hwy 60 anymore - too crowded.
