Artillery Ridge Campground is a bit rustic, but very well run and you can book horseback riding through the battlefields from there.
That is where we stayed and a two musts are to visit the Dioarama there and make sure you take in all the info on the Gettysbutg displays on the various campaigns, etc at the National Park Visitors Center. It will help a lot to read up some and get a little familiar with the layout of the various encampents, locations and lines since that will lead to a better understanding of what happened there. You can get an Auto Audio tour that is well worth the time and Artillery Ridge is located basically adjacent to the Park. You can easily spend two days doing the Audio Car tour if you do the stops in depth. I think each visitor would do well to in studying up draw a little map of all the various locations and descriptions and then refer to that when visiting the various parts of the Park which will sort of provide some "glue" so to speak. There is so much there one can easily get lost going into it w/o any prior knowledge.
