Glacier Nat Park of Canada, bears, and group hiking

There are some great trails in GNP of Canada -- but the website says that you need to hike in groups of four or more because of the bears. So my question is this -- is it hard to find other folks...

It was either in Banff or Jasper, but there were kiosks at some of the trail heads where you could leave contact info for other hikers for the same reason. Some of the notes had descriptions as to the "type" of hiker. Check for these or contact park officials to see if they have a similar system.
