Gary, you are 100% right - PLAN, PLAN and RESEARCH for yourself at the RIGHT places - not on a forum of the uninformed.
I crossed into Canada this summer to go to Alaska with a 12 gauge shotgun with absolutely NO problem!!!
Why?? I PLANNED!! Did the research, filled out the form(1/2 page),had legal gun (met Canada's rules) AND declared gun at border. Took about 10 minutes inside and $25.00 permit fee. They did run a background check of course.
Just follow the rules (laws) and do it right and there will be no problems. This applies to hand guns as well. Also to food, medicine, etc.
I hope this will quit at least some of the "you can't take guns to Canada" crowd that don't do the research thus they DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT !!!!!
