Good eats in Alaska

Just noticed that The Double Muskie in Girdwood was awarded best steak, specifically the Pepper Steak, in the USA! Excellent Alaskanized Cajun and Steaks since 1962!

Also the Old Fashioned donuts at the Kobuk in Anchorage, across from the Captain Cook Hotel, were selected as the best ones in the country! You'll find my best friend Mike Bonito, the owner, making donuts there almost every morning. Great coffee too.

Louie's Steak & Seafood in Kenai is a favorite too!

  • Since chasing a buck is causing me to spend a fair amount of time in Ewe-stun and Texas, I might push back on the "Best Steak" award to Double Muskie.....but that is not meant to take anything away from Double Muskie which, as noted, has been providing outstanding and unique food for 40 years. Still the best in Girdwood IMNSHO (if not AK), although I wouldn't turn away a meal from 7 Glaciers or (Mental breakdown) whatever the hibachi restaurant at Alyeska is called.

    Louie's is great as well.

Don't miss Kincaid Grill in Los Anchorage.
  • Fast Eddie's in Tok on a Friday evening for their prime rib dinner. So good!
