It probably personal reasons why they decided to close but at $10.00 a night it was / is pretty cheap. Remember there are utilities, internet, labor costs and infrastructure upkeep 12 months a year. That stuff does not go away when you all head back north.
The hard part is to price it so you don´t scare away clients but can still afford to stay open for the next season. No one is getting rich in this business.
