What's the best way to go thru Atlanta when heading south on I-75?

The only other things I might add is> On Fridays it is usually busy from around noon until well after 6PM. Run with the traffic and give yourself some cushion on the vehicle you are following. Stay in your lane - you will get through pretty fast if it is not raining.
