I thought that the Gov. was going to make ISSTE facilities available to IMSS patients in certain circumstances. Good move. I tried to get into the ISSTE system through a "connection". Impossible! My Mexican cardiologist is not in any of the public systems. He is a rehab/consult only Dr. But a great guy who is right up to date on the latest drugs and diagnosis. I can call this morning and get in this afternoon or tomorrow morning. The Cima hospital is across the street and they have the best Cath lab in Latin America. He has an EKG in the office and holters as well. Around $60 for a visit. By contrast in our Canadian system I have to wait 6 months to see my cardiologist. He will only see me every 6 months unless it is an emergency!
