Hi way 299 west from Redding California to the coast
I have traveled a lot of mountians, and am looking at the 299 after visiting the Shasta State Historical Park then to the coast ,,up to Oregon. 25' trailer and skilled driver. Hows' the road?

We live in Redding and over the years we have pulled various trailers and 5th wheels over 299 to the coast. It used to have a lot of sharp curves but in recent years they have, for the most part, been straightened out. It is a designated "scenic" highway and well worth the trip. BTW, 299 does not go "over to 36" and highway 36 is a road to be avoided when towing an RV.
