I know there won't be many travelling this way this time of year but there are not a lot of convenient options around this one. From what I saw on the news today it may be closed for a while. The town has declared a state of emergency due to flooding.From the MTO website;"Highway 17 is closed 15 kilometres north of Wawa and 20 kilometres south of Wawa due to a washout."

Thanks for the Info, but Please provide additional info when posting these warnings, as we have a Highway 17 on the east coast from Florida northward

This thread started out interesting, then got downright funny. (I had to check to see if there actually is a Wawa, FL. There's not, but the Wawa chain of convenience stores is expanding into FL. :) )

Any idea how long it'll take them to rebuild and reopen 17? Will it be done by spring?

Just heard on the news there are sinkholes several storeys deep, several cars from a dealership are at the bottom. Cant wait to see some pics. Luckily no one hurt. They are saying several days before they will have timeline for repairs. Waiting for experts to examine the damage.

Yep. That is a fact. Came through North Ontario about 6 weeks ago.
