I'd just do the 60-Soccorro. It's a nice little town to visit, lots of Spanish heritage, good food if you like Mexican food or you can stop at LOTA-BURGER on business 60 and have a burger with green chili on it. The hill from Magdalena to Soccorro is steep but not real bad. Been down it with cattle trucks and loads of grain and produce for years.
