Now that part I would argue with. Starting at Glendive, Montana on I-94 (changing to I-90 at Billings) one is following for the most part one of the last of the mostly free flowing rivers in the US, the Yellowstone River. I just gotta appreciate that drive for that reason. True, its a lot of river bottom scenery, but too many other river bottoms have been flooded behind dams to not appreciate the few left.

As far as US 2 goes, BORING, and gee, its my home area. BORING. :B

Highway 2 across Montana is a long drive. It is mostly 2 lane with a reasonable speed limit (65mph). Last time over this road was in 2008 for us. Not much to see except wheat fields and the BNSF railroad. Grew up in Havre, MT 1942-1953. You can see the mountains starting about Cut Bank.

Well it looks like the Minnesotans don't like it but the Floridians do. Depends on what you are used to seeing I suppose, it's certainly a big change from Florida.

There is the underground tour in Havre and the Plains Indian Museum in Browning. In Shelby there is the boxing museum. There is a nice overnight RV park in Cut Bank. We drove it in 2013 and enjoyed the blue skies and easy drive.

Easy drive but not scenic.

We did that route to GNP and enjoyed it. The views are wide open. Don't expect cell phone coverage tho except in the towns which are widely spaced.
