Has anyone pulled a TT over 88 and carson pass down to 395? The grade doesn't bother me as much as the narrow sharp turns with a cliff on one side.
We've taken 50 to Gardnerville/395 many times with our 40' motorhome. I can't recall what you're describing. It certainly wasn't scary but then, we enjoy mountain driving. We didn't go over Carson Pass. From 50 at Echo Lake if I'm recalling correctly we then took 89 a short distance which connected to 88 taking 88 to 756/Centerville Ln and to 395 at Gardnerville.
