- revrndExplorerJust chatting w/ a friend in Hearst. The fire along 11 is west of the 631 junction, so if someone had to get to the eastern part of 11 from the west (or vice versa) they could use 631 thru Hornepayne.
Nothing engraved in stone for our trip. Going to St. Joseph Island for sure, anything past there is variable. - atreisExplorerJuly is a long ways off - no need to change plans at this point.
That's gotta be tough if they close both 11 and 17 at the same time though - that would cut off highway routes between Toronto and Thunder Bay. (Found the "no detours" on the article amusing - as if there are roads to use for that between White River and Marathon. Heh.) - FizzExplorerA followup story states that HWY 17 has been re-opened.
http://saultonline.com/2016/05/hwy-17-north-re-opened/ - revrndExplorerI guess my plans for that part of the province in July will have to wait until closer to the departure. I had hoped to stay a Neys and do some exploring in the Manitowadge & Caramat areas.
- romoreExplorer IISigh. It is going to be a long summer for fire crews.
