Highway I - Los Angeles to San Jose

Hi there,We are planning to drive from Southern CA to San Jose along the Highway 1 in mid August. Our first stop is EL CAPITAN SB. Second stop is SAN SIMEON SP. I heard that highway I is closed, but I am not sure at which section. Any advice on the road and condition? thanks

Big Sur highway conditions mapIf I read this right you can visit San Simeon, but will have to backtrack to Hwy 46 to continue north on US101.

Paulj is right, you can go past San Simeon to Ragged Point have a hotdog then backtrack
