We will be using that if it gets up and running...
Get the seasick pills out !!!! - retraiteExplorerSome years ago, when the CAT was running, the Portland-Yarmouth leg was overnight as I recall (at about 200 miles one way, it was one roundtrip per day - eastbound was overnight, westbound during daylight). we drove to Portland, had supper, boarded around dusk, had booked a cabin so off to sleep, and the next AM we arrived in Yarmouth and were on our way.
A very handy shortcut to Nova Scotia and a very pleasant trip.
A return to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are somewhere on the horizon, so, its return would be wonderful.
All that said, DW's absolute favorite ferry is the North Sydney, NS to Argentia, NF trip. The view of the stars from the forecastle was astonishing as the Captain had turned off all lights (except the running lights) forward of the bridge. 'Twas spectacular.
Cheers.
