Horse trailer entry

Hi all,

I have a living quarters horse trailer, in which I carry no animals. The entire length has been modified, with a big screen tv and a second bathroom/shower for more comfort. I've sealed/welded the horse windows so they can't be opened. It's pulled by my SRT truck in sig.

So, my question is can this be brought into Mexico as an 5er (which it is)? Moiseh says she doesn't think so, but I want a real answer, not an opinion.

My other vehicle is a PowerCoach, similar to a Kingsley, which is registered as a Class C here in MT. Would that be permitted?

  • If it is just registered as a trailer, I woudl think it can just be added to the tow vehicle permit. if not I see no problem permitting it as an RV. I know in BC travel trialers are classified as trailers, not RV on the registration and there is no issue. I would suggest crossing at Nogales where they cannot physically see the trailer while you are getting the permit and register it as a travel trailer and get a 10 year permit on it.
