- miloExplorer IIFrom I-25 to Shiprock is double lane. Shiprock to Kayenta is single lane. Although it is not the best paved road, it's a heck of allot better than a bunch of em on the rez. Your attention needs to be on the lookout for wildlife wondering across the road as most of that area is free range. Even where there is fenced areas livestock still manages to get out along the hiway.
Milo - dkreuzenExplorerMost of the roads in that area of AZ and UT are on the rough side and 160 is definitely one of them. 163 from Kayenta to Monument Valley is good but past the valley is gets very rough.

JnJnKatiebug, thanks for the info. Well we just thought that route would be shorter to get to Monument Valley. Was 160 that rough all the way to Hyw163? Thanks Tara
We turned north on 160 to 4-Corners. It was rough from Bloomfield to Teec Nos Pos. Can't help you past that. - caysea7254ExplorerJnJnKatiebug, thanks for the info. Well we just thought that route would be shorter to get to Monument Valley. Was 160 that rough all the way to Hyw163? Thanks Tara

Hyw 550 from Albuquerque NM- Bloomfield NM, then hyw 64 to teec nos pos- to hyw 160 to Kayenta AZ. Thanks Tara
I drove that road a couple of years ago in my MH. From Albuquerque to Bloomfield it was a cakewalk. When we headed west it looked like a good easy going road but it was rough. The joints in the road were not even and bounced all the way across there. Only drove about 50 so as not to break the dishes.
