http://www.tc.gc.ca/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles/importation/usa/vafus/list2/menu.htm - wilber1ExplorerProbably more of an issue with motorhomes than trailers.
- tatestExplorer IIEven when a RV is manufactured to meet standards of both countries (certainly possible, if you can get U.S. buyers to accept the Canadian version), factory certification that it meets the standards eases the process of importing it to Canada.
I know that one of the differences involves which add-on accessories are permitted to exceed maximum vehicle widths. It becomes an issue when the vehicle is already maximum width wall to wall. - GreentreenaExplorerhad several co-workers import RVs into Canada, never once heard about problems. All were smiling about all the $$ they saved.
- garyhauptExplorerThanks bradyK..I didn't know that Travelaire had gone. Tripe E is not building C's but they are still building fine units. And my comment wasn't about either manufacturer, it was just using them as examples of different from US building standards.
Gary Haupt - bradykExplorerYes but the other 2 mentioned are gone other than Triple E on B vans.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi bradyk,
Big foot is making trailers and truck campers. There are a few other firms as well. - bradykExplorer

Or, if the poster is asking if there is a difference? Most assuredly, there can be.
In Canada there are only a few manufacturers and of those, two jump out. Triple E and Travelaire. Both build with a better insulation, window and winter package for tanks and lines. Ours are not necessarily 4 season, but they are more suited to the cold and late fall, early spring usage.

Unfortunately Travelaire is long out of business and Triple E has chosen to only build B vans now. Both pretty much gone or almost gone out of business. - garyhauptExplorerOr, if the poster is asking if there is a difference? Most assuredly, there can be.

Gary Haupt - bighatnohorseExplorer III used to chum with the General Manager at Eagle Cap Campers. Their factory had to change the gas line plumbing location in their American built campers in order to sell them in Canada.
There are differences. The devil is in the details.
