How long will you allow for the trip? If it's the entire season, it is definitely workable. I use www.mapquest.com to plan the route and add stops about 300 miles apart. I save the map and can go back and add campgrounds. Find a city near the stop. Then I look for campgrounds on www.woodalls.com and make a note of 2 or 3 that look good. I then check those on www.rvparks.com (the reason I do Woodalls first is to locate the exact city or town which you need to find them on www.rvparkreviews.com) Then I select the campground and go back and add it as a stop on our trip. We arrive during the week and early in the day so we don't usually need reservations. We only make reservations if it's a popular tourist area like Yellowstone or if it's a weekend or a holiday. After I finalize the route and stops, I make a list of the stops and approximate dates and the campground name, address, phone number and rate. The day before we leave one spot I either program the GPS or write down the directions if they are easy. I always check the directions in the Walmart Rand McNally Atlas. We try to stay on interstate highways or US highways. Relax and enjoy your trip. Flexibility is the key.
