You will encounter 100 to 110+ temps in July. Cannot imagine anyone camping in those conditions. If you leave your pooch in the rig and ANYthing goes wrong (with the AC) he will be dead in an hour. Not many AC's can even begin to keep up with the desert heat. Full hookups with you always present is the best your pooch can hope for. Reroute to higher elevations and you will still encounter some serious heat once you hit the California line. Good luck. :C
