I go 95 all the time and NEVER have been stopped from going through the tunnel.
We are leaving for MB next Saturday morning about 8am from outside Poughkeepsie. I use to go straight through....13.5 hours....but the wife hate it so now we stop just north of Richmond at the Americamps...then finish the second day. I take the loop around Richmond...a couple miles more but faster and I never get into traffic.
