In November we did I-40 to I-140 to US17. It was fine. There are a few sections of lights in Wilmington and beach wear shops on 17 but there it's not bad if you're stopping at N. Myrtle.
Do you think its better than going down to 501 and up 17? I will be getting there tomorrow, but just planning ahead. Truck is running right now, and waiting for the wife to pack final odds and ends, kitchen sink, etc., lol! Making a stop for the night somewhere in Virginia, not planned, just stopping before dark.
