The folks who chose the site of Las Penas put it up far beyond the height of the tallest tsunami. A solid rock spine (promontory) sticking out into the Pacific ocean. Mexico City sits atop a quivering bowl of jello. Such a magnitude that would rattle our dishes here fells buildings in the capitol.
News reports have NOT A CLUE as to the toll of the quake. Ten million people live in areas that get cut off by broken roadways. Brick stacked upon brick shacks have collapsed.
