- tahiti16ExplorerWe will never know for sure, could have just been distracted by his problems and oops! As others have stated not a road you have any room for oops in a motorhome. Incredible road in a sports car or on a motorcycle though!! :B :B
- Executive45Explorer IIIIn case you missed it...this is what a 1988 Southwind Class A looks like after a trip down the cliff.
Sad story, who knows why he needed the money enough to rob several banks. He left behind two young children, but maybe he felt suicide was better than spending time in prison. Watching his last video was like his way of saying goodbye so I'd guess suicide is a pretty good guess...still tragic for those left behind, but glad he didn't involve anyone else......Dennis
- JohnG3Explorer IINews tonight named the driver and sole occupant as a local Family Therapist who was arrested in November 2013 for a Bank Robbery in Santa Maria. A CHP spokesman said that as of the broadcast they did not have any evidence to support he intentionally drove off the cliff. Doesn't mean he didn't, just that CHP cannot prove it. He was due in court next week for a motion to revoke bail and go back to jail until his trial.
- othertonkaExplorerYes it is the PCH, Pacific coast highway, and according to Cal Trans it is a red route from San Simeon to Carmel, which means MH 40 ft and over are prohibited. Here is the link to Cal trans. When it comes up click on number 5 on the map and look for highway 1
Cal Trans map - barbandwayneExplorerIs that also the PCH?

- kalynzooExplorerHaving driven that road with a MH I agree with many that it is a great drive in a car but to be avoided in a rig. The update on the story suggests that the accident might have been intentional.
