  • Parts of highway 395 are also closed in Washington or Oregon, due to wildfires as well.

There are sure a lot of wildfires this summer! They are having difficulty finding enough tankers and firefighters this summer, and are calling in resources from New Zealand and other areas!

Have fun camping - if you can find a spot with no smoke in the air!

OK that makes sense, but fumigate what? Have they added cabins to that CG? IT's been years since we camped there. I guess there is a store and some Ranger buildings.

    They fumigate the rodent dens.

But anyone traveling in the eastern Sierra in the next few weeks should expect some smoke -- we just got back from a week near Bridgeport, and the fires on the west side of the Sierra were creating a lot of haze and air pollution all over the area.
  • Tuolummne Campground is also closed for the season since they found two squirrels infected with the plague.
