Hwy 191 - Utah to Ariz.....any gas stations?

We're planning a trip soon from Moab, Utah to Arizona. Hwy 191 looks like the way we'd like to go.....however, 2 of our routing softwares do not show any gas stations for the 200 miles.....Just wondering if any of you know if there are. :) yes, we'll take an extra can......but just curious!

Thank you in advance!
  • Thanks for the info, rocmoc. No, we're heading in to Apache Junction from Holbrook. :). Again, thanks for the gasbuddydotcom address!
  • There is plenty of fuel stations. Use gasbuddydotcom for most locations and you will also know where the better priced fuel is. Top off in Blanding to get the best price before you head into the expensive fuel. If you are taking 191 South out of Eager, AZ you may want to rethink it. Road is very very very very windy!

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  • At Monticello and Blanding for sure, both are good sized towns for the region. You will also find travel stops at other towns and highway junctions, all the way down through Mexican Hat, if you are headed that way.

Once into the reservation, there will be fuel at the trading posts, Gould's in Monument Valley, for example. Also Kayenta, Tuba City going west, Teec Nos Pos, Shiprock going east.

I think my tank that trip took me from Moab to Teec Nos Pos. I know I refueled at a trading post.

If you plan to travel at odd hours in that part of the country, however, it is good to have an understanding of WHEN places are open, it is not as if they are all going to be 24-hour truck stops.

Computer routing programs don't often have complete point of interest databases, there are business relationships involved in getting places listed.
  • Thanks everyone....:) :) We did find that milebymile website.....:) interesting~!! Now.......can't wait to get out the door!!!!!
  • Monticello
    Blanding
    Bluff
then not so much till Shiprock,if you head that way.
