There's some narrow spots on the west side of Stevens Pass. Lots of fatal wrecks have occurred.
I quit doing the pass when I had my 21' Desert Fox Toy hauler. A few years I ago I tried it again with my truck camper and haven't done it since because the road was so rough on the west side. From Stevens Pass east all the way to Spokane, it's a decent drive though. I hated the section from Monroe all the way to the bottom of the west side of Stevens Pass.
A good friend of mine has a 35' 5th wheel toy hauler. He also won't go Highway 2 when we camp at Lake Wenatchee. He will go the long way over Snoqaulmie, then Blewett, then backtrack on Hwy 2 to get to Lake Wenatchee.
