You can read my past posts concerning US-2 (Stevens Pass) so I won't go into all of that here, but only to say that nearly all the way on the west side and over the Cascades the posted speed is 60 mph and for safety's sake it should only be 50/55 depending upon the terrain, the corners, and the deterioration of the pavement at any particular point up to the Summit. US-2 from Everett to Gold Bar has many mega crashes with loss of life...a very dangerous highway. Do not be intimidated by those who try to "push" you. Go the pace you are comfortable with and you'll be fine. Been driving that road since I was in HS. Don't believe newcomers who tell you it's a piece of cake because it is safe.
Heading east over Stevens Pass is very scenic and the route between Waterville, north of Wenatchee, to Spokane is one of my favorite drives through Eastern Washington. A side jog at Coulee City up to Grand Coulee Dam is worth it.
