Hwy 7 From Hot Springs to Harrison Ar

Plan to travel hwy 7 from Hot Springs Ar to Harrison AR. Would like input about this route I see this is a scenic route. Will also be camping as we go. Last week in April. Will be driving a 35ft Motor Home towing a Saturn. Thanks in advance for any info.

  • If you have time in the area check out the Buffalo River. There are a few campgrounds along the river.
DO NOT take the MH down to Kyles Landing. It is a steep, twisting, gravel road down to the river.
  • Very confusing thread! I had to read through it a couple of times before I realised that you were not talking about Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia. Oh, and you do take Highway 7 to get there as well! :). Please carry on!
  • Stop in Jasper at the restraunt across from the courthouse square. cool place and good burger.
  • Google Nimrod Lake, it's on Hwy 7 between Hot Springs and Russellville. Operated by Corp of Engineers. Nice campsites. Tons of camping options in Russellville, some public, mostly privately operated.

Hopefully like most RVer's, I am very aware of a parade forming behind me. I pull over if I see this happening, and although Hwy 7 is twisty and windy, there are places to do so.

Certainly I would agree that the drive would be much more enjoyable if you were not towing, but if this is your one and only opportunity to drive it, then I would go for it.

    But, that's JMHO.

I would go up US65 instead.

    +1

HWY 7 will give you a good upper body workout cranking the steering wheel left and right for four hours while checking the mirrors to see how many are lined up behind you. Not my idea of a relaxing drive.
  • We have gone Hwy 7 from Harrison to Hot Springs several times, towing a 28' TT with our truck. We love that route, as it is very, very scenic. Yes, it is a mostly a twisty and winding road, but I am sure you do fine with your rig. It's not like attempting Trail Ridge road or anything! :E:W
  • Very scenic road,Dogwood should be starting to bloom, around 2nd week of Arpil through early May,have a good trip.
  • It's a winding road south of Russellville to Hot springs but not as bad going north out of Russellville to Harrison..Nice wide road with some pulls but not to bad. I've run it will my 37' gas and never had any problems with it..Nice country..
