Your post indicates you're going to be in the Arkansas River Valley (Hwy 24); why not consider staying at one of the many campgrounds in the valley, in Buena Vista or Leadville and surrounding area? Check rvparkreviews.com for specifics on those 2 towns, or do a search here. Stay in the valley and do the Aspen area trip as a day trip would be a good alternative.

Great advice - while it might make for a long day it is a beautiful drive - IMHO it is different in each direction, so...........

Do not miss the Bells while in Aspen, it seems to me that they have a CG right outside the Bells that might be available Look Here .
