I-10 best choice thru TX?
Traveling Jan 15th from Pensacola FL to Casa Grande AZ. Was wondering if I-10 through TX is the best choice of route to take at that time of year. Camp grounds, fuel, safety? Lakeside

Highway 90 offers a bit more variety but west Texas is semi desert so the color scheme is gray with dark green cedars and brush after you leave del rio.
But the pecos river has a good scenic overlook of a canyon.
Past that is Langtry with a federal museum devoted to the infamous judge Roy bean.
Marathon has an old hotel with gourmet dining room and nice motel Spanish style.
Marfa offers an interesting phenomena of spooky lights ......6 miles east of town at a rest area made for viewing the lights and they do exist because we have seen them.
Also the old hotel in town has been restored.. Liz Taylor and rock Hudson stayed there when they made the movie "giant".
So there u have some of the sights of west Texas :)
