I-10 best choice thru TX?
Traveling Jan 15th from Pensacola FL to Casa Grande AZ. Was wondering if I-10 through TX is the best choice of route to take at that time of year. Camp grounds, fuel, safety? Lakeside

x3 on Balmorrhea, it's beautiful. If you do stop there, consider going down to Fort Davis. There are some reconstructions on the original site that are worth seeing.
To get back to main roads avoid 118. It's a scenic drive but steep and twisty in places. Two miles west of town take a right on TX 166. It goes up through some hills but no bad grades or curves. A left on 505 will connect with US 90 in 5 miles. 505 is narrow but you won't meet more than 2 vehicles
