Well I will be the contrary one I guess. It is true I pull a 5er and figure I only go 65 on or off the freeway so I like using TX back roads, which generally have a speed limit above 65 anyhow. I use TX105 from Beaumont over to US 290 in Brenham and then 290 to I-10 or visa versa going east. I admit I have relatives all over that part of TX and have become pretty confident tooling down the back roads stopping for BBQ and picnicing at the pull outs that seem to be everywhere. There are all kinds of alternate routes in E. Texas and most of them are good, fast, roads with cheap fuel and tasty eats. IMHO
