I 40 west of Arkansas

We did I-40 from Memphis to Santa Fe out and back in early June. I-40 WEST of OK city seemed pretty good to me, and is MUCH BETTER than I-40 east of OK city to Memphis.

There are several areas of construction on I-40 east of Albu to the TX line, some have lane closures and some are just guard rail repair. East of Santa Rosa there is a lane closure for east and west bound but the biggest closure (today) is on the east bound side. There is also an accident closure today near Albu. but that is unusual for the whole road to be closed. Check NMroads.com for updates before your trip.

West from okc pretty good roads. From about 50 miles or so east of okc not so good. Lots of rough spots . I travel from weatherford Oklahom to Ft. Smith 4 or 5 times a year. They are redoing sections. Of I -40.

Came back this week from Williams, AZ to Gatlinburg (then up I-81 home). I-40 from Flagstaff to Gatlinburg was fine. A little rough in spots, but compared to PA roads, it was heaven.
