When can we expect an ice free run South from Washington to SOCAL after winter? Thinking mid-March / early April. We will need some sun by then...... thinking Palm Springs.

It is ice-free most of the winter.
Storms/snow/freezing rain create some ice, but all the big trucks, and the climate, mean it usually only lasts a few days. Weeks, sometimes, but this year is forecasted to be a warm winter in the PNW.
