I-80 is good to Akron, but unless you like paying for the privilege of driving on their roads, you have to plan you way from there west.

If you do go close to Cleveland, there is an easy and cheap drive along the Erie shore that we use. It is not difficult it is just the extra navigation.
In Ohio watch your speed. They do target out of state plates and they are sneaky.
