I travel 81/68/79 regularly since my family lives in the Northern Panhandle and I live in the Eastern Panhandle of Wv. There are three long steep grades. Cooper's Rock outside of Morgantown heading east. Negro Mountain and Sideling Hill. All three have extra lanes for slower traffic. There are a few smaller grades as well. Heading into Cumberland you will slow down to 40 mph and it is a little curvy until you pass through town. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. Just watch for the state troopers in Maryland.. they are everywhere.
