- jaycocamprsExplorerThere are 2 things to think about. US-41 is just north of I-24 at exits 158 & 161, from there to exit 174 is doable with any RV. I pulled it today, because of back ups on I-24. East of I-24 into Chattanooga are 2 low RR underpasses. Your C may fit, there is no way our 5'ver will. Now US-41 is 2-lane pre interstate era road, and at the west end is very uneven. Issues with the roadway sinking & sliding down hill. So if you know that there is a problem before exit 174, it works. The other that may work for you is going down I-59 to exit 11 and GA-136. GA-136 will cross I-75 at exit 320. The bad news is you will go over Lookout Mountain. About 50 miles of 2 lane state highway, 61 from I-24. All of our friends from Atlanta go through Chattanooga going to Cloudland Canyon SP, which is on Lookout Mountain above Trenton GA. Spend a few days at what I think is one of Georgia's nicer state parks and this route could work for you.

When heading East on I24 to catch 75S to Florida I always get caught in a traffic jam at the I59 junction. Is there a timely route around this mess? Is 41 an option? I travel in a 30' Class C.
The short answer is no. US-41 has 2 low under passes, and it's been my experience it's jammed too. You might look at going south on I-65 to Montgomery AL and then start working east. Miss both Chattanooga & Atlanta. - Peg_LegExplorerYou didn't give your starting and ending point. I leave from Anderson, to my BIL's in Peachtree City, SW side of Atlanta, I checked 5 different routes and had a total of 12 mi between the short and long ones.
I usually don't run into a back up until I'm past 59. I can take 59 south, cross over to US 27 and only add a hour of time but I miss Chattanooga and Atlanta. I consider the extra hour a bargin. After leaving the BIL's I go south through the country and catch back up to 75 south of Macon at Perry.
We go about 20 mi south of the 75-toll road split at Wildwood. If it weren't for the BIL in GA, I'd go down I-65, 231 and hwy 19. I do not like Choo-Choo. Twice now coming down the hill I've had people cross in front of me sideways and hit the wall divider. I also go around Nashville. - sdianel_-acct_cExplorerI think there is a tunnel on 41. I would take I-40 east to Cookeville TN exit 288 (Hwy 111) to US 27 to I-24.
- coolmom42Explorer IIYou could pick up I-75 in Lexington or Cincinnati, and stay on the east side of Chattanooga the whole way down.
