205 has been the better choice to get through Portland in past years, so it's good to hear that's still the case! Is the traffic a bit less slammed between 11 and 3 on weekdays?
DD commutes Vancouver to Salem daily and she uses I5 through Portland probably 80% of the time. It is faster hy far. In the old days when 205 was new/newer a person could move pretty well down it, but thanks to ODOT and their lack of planning 205 has become another bottle neck due to all the on/off ramps.
Stick with I5 except during rush hour.
