I90 to Kalispell

Anyone have experience traveling up rt200 and rt 93 to Kalispell,MT pulling a fifth wheel? Any info would be appreciated, thanks,Dave
  • Yes, that is true. Yum... got to love those late cherries, especially the Rainiers. I guess that is one reason why the speed limit is 50 mph.
  • With the cherry harvest coming up the east side can be a slow go with everybody pulling or out from the cherry shacks.

The answer to that question comes by asking what your destination is?
If you are going to Glacier NP, then the east side w/50 mph speed limit, is much faster and prettier, even if you are staying at an RV park on the Flathead River near Kalispell.
If you are headed to Kalispell or Whitefish, the west side will do fine. You will have a lot of traffic going through Kalispell. There is an alternate route around the west side of town to US 2. But, you will still have to go through the north end of town, where most of the traffic and mall stores are, to get to Whitefish.

My son and family live there so I am well familiar with the traffic patterns.
  • Not sure, on the east side. my counsins said it`s a bit longer drive. other than that, don`t know. the post above says OK.

  • Yes, easy drive. as was already mentioned, watch your speed. the drive around Flathead Lake is beautiful!
  • Southernsky is correct. Watch the little towns with your speed and especially going thru the reservation. This time of the year try to avoid Friday nights as Missoula empty's out. They are all going to Flathead.
  • Did that route a couple week ago. Nice ride with no trouble with my rig. There was one little town we passed through that had radar so watch your speed. Take your time and enjoy the ride.
