I95 Overnight Stopovers

X2 for Carolina Crossroads. In after 6PM out by 10AM for $30. Sites are FU. Make reservation and packet is waiting for you. Drop payment in drop box and you're good to go. There is also a CG near Fayetteville that has the same deal, name escapes me.

I've done the Roanoke Rapids Wal-Mart three times since 2013. No issues on any occasion. Pull in about midnight and out by 6am.

We stayed at the NC welcome center and the Rest stop south of Jacksonville FL.

The NC welcome center has some RV and Truck parking. I didn't like the setup too much though. If you look at a satellite view of the NC Welcome center the RV parking is along the curb and the truck parking is to the right. When the truck pull out they drive right past the RVs. If I was looking to stop at about the same spot again I would go for RV Resorts at Carolina Crossroads or Roanoke Rapids Walmart.

We stayed here. I liked that setup. A decent number of RV slots. It's still close to the trucks so you can hear them, but it's nice to know you're not taking a spot from someone making a living. If you sleep in the rear of your RV the trucks leaving is not too bad. The RV section is the right most area of the rear parking lot when looking at a satellite view.

Thanks, I never assumed that some places will have some means for campers to have a full stay without actually ever seeing any staff. I'll have to call them to see how they deal with this. This looks like a great option (we missed it this pass, but may have another opportunity soon).

How about a motel with microwave, fridge, clean and comfortable bed on a property with a gas station, Waffle House, and a field with parking for RV's, sports bar and grill for $55/night? No unhooking/hooking, America's Best Value Inn in St George SC. Been there for 3 consecutive years and going again. Camp on

You may be able to secure a spot at a welcome center or rest area but that late at night might be full (but not necessarily).

We usually stop in Santee State Park (was $16 on weekday and $21? on weekend) in SC and a short drive from route 95...a place to summarize if necessary.

Walmart are not tops on my list...stayed in a Cracker Barrel in Amarillo in the fall and have decided that that is not tops either especially since they are in pretty populated areas (thus noise).

Welcome to VA is our first stop usually.

Boondockers welcome is another option. Worth it if you will you use it.

The rest area south of Jax fl has separate rv area...always nice. Casino Miccosukee as well in southern florida if you go to Keys.

We stayed at the Florence RV Park in South Carolina, right near the highway. Good basic campground with drive thru sites.

Florence, SC seems to have a few options... one trip we stayed at a hotel, may have been a Holiday Inn?, that had plenty of room for us to park in back with our TT and we showered up and had breakfast at the hotel that is included in the room price.

We have stopped in the Florence, SC Walmart. We parked far to the right when facing the front door. It wasn't our favorite place but it was clean and open 24 hours.

We have also stopped at the South Carolina Welcome Centers in Dillon and Santee. Dillon has a lot more spaces but the ones in Santee are level.

Jasper RV park I95 South Carolina exit 8. Great place to stay, spent a few night there last summer traveling up and down i95. There is a walmart on same exit several miles past the park. Huge gas station for large rigs at same exit.

Brunswick, GA exit 29 I believe is good as well

Travel America in St Augustine, think the exit is 305.

Put the app RVparky in your phone and you will never be without a place to stop. Used it on trips to Fla and a trip out to Yellowstone this summer and wouldn't leave home without it. Also you can find it on your computer, covers walmart's, cracker barrels, flying j/pilot campgrounds and more. Very easy to use.

Carolina Crossroads in NC - just south of the VA border - has sites set aside for late arrivers. I think they're water and elec only. Easy to find, close to I95, nice people running it, although they're only there from 9 till 5 so you probably won't meet them.

One exit north of there is a Walmart with a good size back parking lot area. We stopped there to stock up and the security guy came by to help me park. He asked if we were overnighting, so I assume it's allowed. I don't know if the security guys are there all night.
