I95 to I 81 north from Savannah
What is a good option beside I26 to I77to connect with I81 north from Savannah. Towing 30' travel trailer. I prefer interstates over secondary roads.

Depends on how you like back roads and where you are actually starting from and going to. I live in Charleston and can give you several options once I know the above.
Without, assuming Charleston to Staunton, VA, grab 52 in Goose Creek, SC up through Cheraw grabing 1 to I-74 in Rockingham. In Greensboro, NC work your way over to Hwy 29 which will take you all the way up to I64 which you can grab over to I81. About 3/4 of this route is dual lane road and very few traffic lights.
