Dan..it is safer here, yes. Partially because we have 1/10 of the population compared to the US. Also, we do have stricter gun controls and yes, there is an argument to be made to ease ours, however, we as citizens do not have the ready access to the markets that folks in the US do.
We do have the low-lifes..drugs, fools, alcohol, I was bored, gangs, low income is used as an excuse here too. In the end...yes, I think most feel safer here. But..because of that attitude, I am now short one pretty Yamaha generator. Buggers walked into our garage..while I was in the house...and walked out with it. So now..I do ensure my garage door is down if I am not IN it..which is not what makes me happy.
