Since the RV haulers have DOT numbers the police will stop the haulers from time to time for a chat. That is the only time I can remember seeing a RV on the scales. If you have a DOT number (ie commercial) you are required to cross scales. I can understand how this might cause some confusion.
Unless you have a DOT number on your truck you should be business and normal and enjoy your trip across Indiana.
