Indiana

We are routing a trip from Ohio to Washington State. I have been advised to travel around Indiana because of some of their Laws. Mainly that they are cracking down on weight limits and have RVers use scales. Can anyone tell me if this is true? I'm just wanting to avoid having to spend time getting my RV weighed at a permanent or portable scale. I watch my weight limits before I hit the road and roadside inspections would just serve to add time to my already long trip.
  • Never had any problems or been asked to weigh anywhere. Have not heard anything about this from the people we have met that are from Indiana. Have also never seen an RV at a weigh station either.
  • I drove south on I-65 from near Gary to Kentucky in May of 2014. I never saw any thing pertaining to RV's having to be weighed or any other law specific to RV's.
